BRITAIN FOR CONSENSUS POLTIICS IN NEPAL
British Minister of International Development Sahid Malik, who concluded his two-day Nepal visit today, said that Nepal should go for consensus at this crucial juncture "which should build national consensus on delivering peace and security.""Holding election to constituent assembly has been a milestone. Next important mission is to urgently form a new government," Malik said at the press conference in the capital.
Commenting on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, Malik was of the view that "he has played a vital role in Nepalese progress democracy and constituent assembly election. I congratulate him."
He appreciated Prachanda saying the decision to give up arms and engage in democracy may prove to have been the most crucial decision in achieving democratic and prosperous Nepal.
"I congratulate them on electoral success. It is crucial that they see through their success in the constituent assembly election by leading the formation of a new government," he further said.
He also commented on the free health policy of the country adding that the same must now be extended to maternity care in hospitals while international health partnership is also achieved.
